|Info||The launch of County Times in April 2006 set new horizons for provincial newspapers in Northern Ireland in terms of quality editorial content and dedicated commercial opportunities. Our paper has set a blistering pace in bringing you the news and in depth items that really matter, politics, profiles, social, cultural and business issues, medical, religious and sporting features.|
Our investigative journalism has already caused some to blink with the illuminating light of expose` and our pro-active approach to news gathering has been highlighted by our readers as being refreshingly different.
The cross community ethos of County Times has been self evident in all aspects of our endeavors to date and will form a central plank in the policy and practice of this paper at all times. Reader reaction has been nothing short of incredible and for this we are genuinely grateful. Far from resting on our laurels, this vote of confidence gives us renewed vigour to break the old moulds of established journalism and to continue to inject a vibrancy and clarity to our future output.
The County Times Newspaper is a new publication created, designed and targeted at and for the County L'Derry populace. It has long been our contention that the area has languished between the combined strengths of Derry City and the spreading expanse of Antrim. This massive catchment area has, in our opinion, a public profile that has been lamentably understated for years. County Times has from today, embarked on a corrective crusade. Your new paper is patently cross community in tone, content and presentation. We have recruited editorial, advertising and technical personnel who will reflect the specific ethos of our new publication. There will be no secluded pastures for sacred cows, our avowed aim is to present it as it is. Our political stance is simple, we will illuminate the activities of all parties but will be affiliated to none. We intend to cover all the outstanding issues relevant to the county in a professional and competent manner and to the highest editorial standards.
Profiles on individuals who have excelled in their particular field, be it sport, academia, politics or the professions will form a central plank in our editorial output. Social, cultural, business and entertainment activities will also figure prominently and leading figures from the business, medical and religious professions will contribute on a regular basis. Sport will feature prominently in our publication with soccer, cricket, GAA, rugby and boxing leading the charge on the back pages.
